Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering

Chair in Electronic Engineering

Applications are invited for the post of Professor of Electronic Engineering in the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering. The Department is the largest of three Departments in the College of Informatics and Electronics and offers a range of undergraduate and taught postgraduate programmes. In addition there are graduate students in the Department studying by research for Masters and Ph.D. degrees.

Candidates should have an international reputation for professional achievement, a strong commitment to academic excellence and hold a doctorate in the relevant field. The person appointed will have a distinguished record of publications in international journals, a successful research funding record, an established reputation for Ph.D. supervision and experience of teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.

The successful candidate should be an academic leader of the highest calibre and should have expertise in one or more of the following domains: electronics, IC and circuit design, DSP, control, embedded systems. The appointee will be expected to make a significant contribution to the ongoing development of the Department by providing leadership, promoting new research initiatives and interacting with the strong existing programmes.

Salary Scale: €109,106 -- €140,385 p.a.

how can ece justify a salary for that position when they have about 25 students per year coming in? still tis a tasty number, doubt my cv would meet the requirements somehow though :lol:

Honestly don't know lad, they had a meeting up there today about dropping Modules and intergrating other modules. Bet that was fun. Give 2 more years lad and your a shoe in for that job :lol:
